ABOUT SABOUNÉ

SABOUNÉ is an independent creative studio working across film, photography, brand and design. Established in 2011, the studio was built around a simple idea: that strong creative work should feel authored, considered and visually coherent, regardless of the medium it appears in. Moving image, stills and identity work are approached as parts of the same visual language rather than separate disciplines.

The studio's point of view is cinematic, precise and deliberately focused. Atmosphere, composition, casting, colour, typography and pacing are treated as connected decisions. That approach carries from a film frame to a photographic series, from a brand system to the way a presentation, website or physical touchpoint is designed. The objective is not simply to make things look good, but to create work with character and a recognisable sense of authorship.

SABOUNÉ works across original projects, commissions and long-term creative partnerships. Some assignments begin with a blank page; others involve stepping into an established brand and helping it become clearer, sharper and more consistent. In either case, the studio stays close to the work itself — developing the idea, shaping the visual system and carrying that thinking through to execution.

The result is a practice that sits comfortably between creative studio, production company and design partner without trying to be a full-service agency. SABOUNÉ is intentionally selective about where it places its energy, focusing on projects where a strong visual perspective can make a meaningful difference and where the relationship allows the work to be developed with care.

02 / ABOUT CREATOR

DANIEL SABOUNÉ

Daniel Sabouné is a filmmaker, photographer and creative director whose practice moves between directing, image-making and brand systems. He began building SABOUNÉ in 2011 and has developed the studio around a consistent interest in cinematic storytelling, visual culture and the way strong ideas can move across different formats without losing their identity.

His work is led by image and atmosphere. Whether directing a film, building a photographic series or shaping a visual identity, he tends to start with the emotional character of the project: how it should feel, what should be remembered and which details will give it its own world. From there, the process becomes increasingly precise — refining composition, casting, colour, typography, rhythm and the many smaller decisions that make the larger idea believable.

Based in Sydney and working internationally, Daniel leads SABOUNÉ across original work, commissioned projects and ongoing creative relationships. His role often extends beyond a single discipline, moving between concept development, directing, photography, art direction and design oversight depending on what the project requires. That range allows a campaign, film or brand to be viewed as one connected creative system rather than a collection of separate outputs.

The through-line is a preference for clarity over noise and for work that feels intentional rather than overworked. Daniel's approach is collaborative but highly visual, combining intuition with a disciplined production mindset. He remains closely involved in the making of the work, with SABOUNÉ functioning as both the creative framework and the studio through which that point of view continues to evolve.
